Fall Tox Away Day was very WET, but a great success, thanks to your participation, Morgan County! We had 535 vehicles visit our drop off site! Over 1,600 gallons of paint, 264 gallons of gasoline and paint thinner, 234 gallons of pesticides, 1,002 lbs of adhesives, 51 lead batteries, 902 gallons of oil, 139 gallons of antifreeze, 509 lbs. of unwanted medication including 50 lbs. of controlled substances, 241 tires, and 195 televisions were disposed of properly. This totaled up to 43 tons of toxic waste! We couldn't have accomplished the day without our volunteers. Thank you! If you would like to volunteer for our next Tox Away Day, please call 765-342-2533. An Introduction to Trash & Recycling for Home & School
When trash is thrown away, students learn through an activity it really doesn’t go away. Students are challenged to rethink daily actions to reduce landfill waste. 3rd Grade, 40 min.
Interactive watershed landscape model shows soil erosion and water pollution. Students participate in hands-on activities and discussion about stormwater, Point source and non -point source pollution, as well as conservation practices. 3rd Grade, 60 min.
